IAEM Thursday Learning Webinar Series #4:
"Creating Supersonic Presentations"

Aug. 25, 2017

About the Webinar: Death by Powerpoint is a horrible way to go. This presentation takes aim at the endless bullets, excess verbiage, hard-to-read fonts, and painful animations that characterize too many of the presentations we attend, and provides attendees with examples of how to create presentations that are engaging, aesthetically pleasing, and informative. Attendees will understand basic concepts for modern presentation design, including how to create presentations that are visually appealing and which support rather than replace the speaker.
About the Speaker: Erik Gaull is the director of Public Safety and Emergency Management Programs for Applied Research Associates, Inc. Prior to joining ARA, Erik was an independent consultant and educator specializing in business resiliency, enterprise risk management, and public safety/homeland security. He worked on projects in the United States, Europe, Canada, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Erik holds a Top Secret/SCI (SI/TK) security clearance and four premier peer-conferred professional designations – CEM, CPP, CBCP, and PMP. He also has earned FEMA’s Master Exercise Practitioner, Professional Continuity Practitioner (Level I), Advanced Professional Series, and Professional Development Series recognitions. He serves on the DHS Emergency Services Sector Coordinating Council, as the Emergency Services Sector Chief for the National Capital Region InfraGard Member Alliance, and on the DHS Science and Technology Directorate’s First Responder Resource Group.
