REGION 3 CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES
Region 3 held its annual meeting at the Reno IAEM conference on Sunday, November 11th.
New business included the announcement of new Region 3 committees set up to identify subject matter experts and resources, and to increase member services to the region. See attached Region 3 meeting agenda. Members are requested to send President Kathee Henning a brief background paragraph and contact information if interested in one of the new committees: Homeland Security, Community Preparedness, Communications/Technology, Website/Newsletter, and Nominations.
Other topics included national issues, reports from the President and Secretary, scholarship activities, and budget.
Greetings, Region 3 members! The IAEM Annual Conference is just around the corner, Nov. 12-15, 2006, in Orlando, Florida! Each region has been asked to contribute a themed basket to offer during the Silent Auction at this year's confernece. The proceeds of the Silent Auction help to support IAEM student scholarships.
This year, Region 3 ’s basket theme is baby items. Region 3 members are invited to donate to the basket by sending in baby-related products, such as rattles, pacifiers, bottles, diapers, wipes, picture frames, blankets, toys, etc. — by Oct. 20th.
When collecting items, we encourage you to be creative and select items that reflect our region. For example, a bottle with a sports team or a bib with a tourist town are examples of how we can creatively incorporate the uniqueness of our region into the theme of this year’s basket.
