Election Results (10/25/07)
The International Region online election of officers has closed. Gideon F. For-Mukwai, CEM, has been re-elected as International Region President. R. Martín Closa, the IAEM representative from Argentina, has been elected as International Region Vice President.
A second call for nominations was sent to IAEM International Region members on Oct. 7, 2007. Nominations close at noon Eastern time on Oct. 20, 2007. The online election of officers is scheduled for Oct. 22-24, 2007. The online Voting Area with information on voter eligibility, voting procedures, and candidates will be available by Oct. 21, 2007. Watch for a RED link on this page when the Voting Area is activated.
No candidates announced their wish to run for the offices of Regional President and Regional Vice President of the IAEM International Region, following current Regional President Gideon For-Mukwai's announcement of the call for nominations. The election is therefore delayed, and members of this region will be notified when it is re-scheduled. IAEM continues to seek candidates for these positions.
What is a National Representative? [+/-]
National Representatives are volunteers who hold a position, or have a network of contacts, within their country's EM community. They are members who have agreed to represent IAEM in their country and recruit members with the objective of creating a viable number of members to form a new Region (75). All that is required of them is that they allow their details (name and e-mail) to be posted as a point of contact in their country for those interested in finding out about or joining IAEM. Each month they are asked to update the International Council President with a report on activity and items of interest in their part of the world. Their activities to grow a truly international association of EM professionals will be supported by IAEM HQ and the International Council President.
