Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) is a regimented state college located in Buzzards Bay, MA. In 2004, MMA joined the growing ranks of colleges to offer a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management/Homeland Security. The Emergency Management program offers students the scientific and analytical background to approach emergency situations with knowledge and skill. Classes such as Infectious Agents, Radiological Materials, Risk Assessment and Public Health Issues lay a strong foundation. The academics are supplemented with a mandatory internship, customary to MMA’s “Learn, Do, Learn” tradition. The graduating Class of 2008 will be the first to include the Emergency Management degree.

Students include professionals from both the public and private sectors, including the fields of education, first responders, large corporations and federal emergency management agencies.
