All IAEM Individual, Lifetime, and Affiliate members are invited to vote on a proposed IAEM-USA Bylaws amendment offered for your consideration by the IAEM-USA Board.

The proposed IAEM-USA Bylaws amendment would limit terms of IAEM-USA directors and officers. IAEM-USA Bylaws amendments require a vote of members. To pass, this proposed amendment must receive support by two-thirds (2/3's) of those members voting.

In the Nov. 1, 2012 IAEM-USA Board meeting, the IAEM-USA Board voted to bring a proposed IAEM-USA Bylaws amendment before IAEM-USA members for a vote. For your reference, you can access the current IAEM-USA Bylaws here.
IAEM-USA Bylaws, Article IV–Officers, Section 8:
The proposed amendment would ADD a new paragraph to Article IV—Officers, Section 8 to read:
"B. The Secretary, Treasurer and Regional Presidents shall be limited to no more than three consecutive terms of office. Regional bylaws can be more restrictive."
If this bylaws amendment passes, it will go into effect immediately, and will apply to incumbents as their current terms conclude.
Online voting will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. U.S. Eastern time. On that date, the red link to the right that says "VOTE NOW" will be activated, and eligible voters will be able to place their votes using the online ballot.
Online voting will end on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern time.
You can vote online by clicking on the RED link to the right on this page called "VOTE NOW." The RED "VOTE NOW" link will be activated on Jan. 9, 2013.
- When you click on this link, you will be asked for your IAEM User ID and Password.
- Enter that information, and you will be taken to the the Member Surveys page.
- Click on the survey called "2013 IAEM-USA Bylaws Amendment." This is your online ballot.
- You will then be able to vote "YES" or "NO" on the proposed IAEM-USA bylaws amendment.
- When you have voted, click the "Post Survey Choices" button to cast your vote. (Once you click this button, you can't go back and you can't make changes - so be sure that your ballot is as you want it BEFORE you click the button.)
You can only vote once. You cannot change your vote once it is placed. If you have any difficulties in placing your vote, contact IAEM Membership Director Sharon Kelly at info@iaem.com.
You must be an IAEM member, and you must have paid dues for Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2013, in order to be eligible to vote on the bylaws amendment. If you have not paid your dues for the current membership year, you can join or renew your membership online, but dues must be paid no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern time, Feb. 7, 2013, in order to establish your voter eligibility for this election.
If you do not have an e-mail address on file with IAEM and therefore have not received a User ID and Password to access the Members Only area, contact IAEM Membership Director Sharon Kelly at info@iaem.com, or 703-538-1795, ext. 2, and place an e-mail address on file with IAEM so that you can be assigned a User ID and Password.
