The Bulletin is distributed to 4,300+ emergency management officials each month, representing all levels of government, industrial, commercial, educational, military, private, non-profit and volunteer organizations in the U.S. and around the world. The newsletter is also sent to allied organizations and legislative representatives with a role in emergency management issues.

Special Focus Issues

At least four times a year, the IAEM Bulletin includes a Special Focus section on a selected topic of interest to emergency managers.

2009 Special Focus Issues

February 2009: EM Communications
Deadline for article submissions: Jan. 10, 2009
Articles are solicited on emergency management communications preparedness, response, and interoperability across agencies and regions.

May 2009: Research to Practice

Deadline for article submissions: Apr. 10, 2009

This issue will focus on innovation and new ideas that are
put into practice. We especially want to hear from practitioners who have put research into practice, not just researchers who have great ideas. Also, how have you taken a lesson learned from some event and applied it to a different situation, circumstance, event or organization?

July 2009: Faith-Based Organizations in
Response and Recovery

Deadline for article submissions: June 10, 2009
An article could focus on a specific organization, or it could share how a community utilizes assistance from faith-based organizations, documenting lessons learned. In the United States, faithbased organizations have a special function because of governmental as well as individual agency rules. We would like to learn how faithbased organizations respond all around the world; there may be
similarities or differences.

October 2009: Emergency Management USA: United We Stand

Deadline for article submissions: Sept. 10, 2009

The special focus topic will match the theme for the IAEM-USA 2009 Annual Conference
