IAEM Student Chapter at University of Akron Holds Candy Sale to Raise Money for Haiti Relief (01 Feb 2010)
(20 Jan 2010) The IAEM-Global Bylaws (updated 20 January 2010) define IAEM Student Membership as follows:
Section 2, Classification of Membership, E. Student Member:
Student membership is available for up to six years to anyone enrolled in a post-secondary institution, studying emergency management or a related field. Proof of current enrollment may be required by IAEM staff. Students are members of both the Student Council and the council in which they reside. Each geographic council may define a process for granting exceptions to the six-year limitation due to extenuating circumstances.
(01 Jan 2010)The 2010 Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference, to be held Apr. 6-7, 2010, in Tacoma, Washington, will offer a student rate of $125 to students of IAEM. You must be in current student standing with IAEM to qualify for this rate. Learn more about the conference.
(18 Sept 2009) The IAEM Student Council is soliciting entries for the IAEM-SC 2009 Chapter of the Year Award. The IAEM-SC would like to recognize the accomplishments and achievements of its Chapters through an annual awards program. This year, the IAEM-SC will be recognizing a Chapter of the Year. If your Chapter would like to apply, please complete the official entry form and email it to Matt Feryan, Treasurer/Awards Committee Chair, jmferyan@hotmail.com, no later than Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. The winning Chapter will be determined by the IAEM-SC Awards Committee, and will be recognized at the IAEM 2009 Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. Student Council Bylaws and Dues Change (29 May 2009) IAEM Student Council members voted to approve both the proposed Student Council Bylaws and the proposed change in IAEM Student Council membership dues.
New IAEM Student Council Dues Structure:
Dues will be collected at the rate of $30 per Student Member per year.
Dues will be distributed as follows:
The Student Development Fund will be used for the following:
• To increase membership in areas outside of established Student Regions.
• To increase membership and support activities in newly formed Student
Regions.
• To increase membership and support activities in struggling Student
Regions.
